Kerry McKittrick
Co-Director, Harvard Project on Workforce
Kerry McKittrick is the Co-Director of the Harvard Project on Workforce, an interdisciplinary applied research project between the Harvard Kennedy School's Malcolm Wiener Center for Social Policy, the Harvard Business School’s Managing the Future of Work Project, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In this role, Kerry leads the Project’s strategy, policy, and engagement agenda. She also spearheads research projects focused on building equitable pathways to economic mobility. She has co-authored influential reports and speaks regularly about college-to-career transitions, equity in career and technical education, and career navigation in a time of rapid change.
Prior to joining the Project on Workforce, Kerry was a senior manager in the Executive Office at Jobs for the Future, where she worked closely with the CEO and Chief of Staff to develop and oversee cross-organizational initiatives and publications. Before that, she served as a Senior Policy Advisor on education, labor, workforce development, and child welfare policy to Congressman Jim Langevin, co-chair of the bipartisan Career and Technical Education Caucus and leader of the 2018 reauthorization of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act. She started her career in politics, serving as the successful campaign manager for Massachusetts State Representative Ken Gordon. She holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Brown University and a master’s degree in education policy and analysis from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she was distinguished as a Leadership in Education Fellow.
