Biography
Jānis Kreics is an engineer and entrepreneur who has built and currently leads Akmens Nami and Būvdizains, digital construction and architecture companies based in Latvia. With a career rooted in innovation and sustainable building practices, Jānis has established himself as a forward-thinking leader in the construction industry. He currently also serves as BIM manager on a contract basis for ERB Rail, bringing digital expertise to large-scale infrastructure project – Rail Baltica.
Holding the LEED AP credential, Jānis is committed to environmentally responsible design and construction. His work spans project management, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and the integration of digital tools into the construction workflow – helping teams work smarter, build better, and reduce environmental impact.
Jānis’s connection to international professional development runs deep. As a former participant in the BAFF professional internship program, he experienced firsthand how a well-structured internship can shape a career. His internship with Skanska – one of the world’s leading construction companies – proved to be a defining chapter in his professional journey, and that relationship continues to this day. Jānis remains actively engaged with Skanska on various projects, a testament to the lasting professional network that meaningful internships can build.
