Michayla George

Michayla George is a globally minded young professional passionate about education, leadership, business, and entertainment. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, she graduated from Tennessee State University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a minor in Spanish. Her academic journey was defined not only by excellence in the classroom, but by a deep curiosity about the world beyond it. 

Her global perspective was broadened through participating in a language immersion program in Madrid, Spain, where she experienced firsthand the transformative power of cultural exchange. She later became her university’s first recipient of the prestigious Luard Morse Scholarship through the English-Speaking Union, which allowed her to spend a semester studying at Queen Mary University of London. These experiences expanded her worldview and solidified her commitment to increasing access to international opportunities for students from historically underrepresented communities. 

Through support from Tennessee State University’s College of Business, Michayla further developed her leadership and professional acumen, earning recognition for academic excellence and engaging in transformative mentorship through the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. She has consistently leveraged her experiences to bridge cultural gaps, foster inclusivity, and reimagine how global education can be more accessible and impactful. 

She was selected as one of twenty-five participants in CIEE’s inaugural Business and Marketing Internship cohort, allowing her to support college students studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. During this experience, she strengthened the center’s digital presence, supported community impact initiatives, and helped design student engagement programming that fostered meaningful cultural exchange. 

Michayla is committed to innovating and expanding the ways that people connect across cultures, and uses her expertise to inspire collaboration in global communities.
