Laura Bielby
Student Opportunity and Experiential Learning Manager at Leeds Beckett University. ASET Trustee
Laura joined Leeds Beckett University in the Summer of 2023 having worked at two other Higher Education Institutions in the North of England over the past 10 years. Her current role manages a team which oversees the whole of the institution’s Placement Years, a large proportion of the University’s Semester long modular placements in the local community alongside a range of extra/co-curricular internship and experiential learning opportunities in the UK and internationally.
Laura has held a Board position for the organization ASET for five years. ASET, The Work Based Learning and Placement Learning Association. ASET is a membership-focused organization serving Higher Education Institution staff who deal with placements and other forms of Work Based Learning. Servicing both academics and professional service members of staff, they support the CPD of members through an Annual Conference, Staff Development Workshops, Good Practice Guides and research of placements, Work Based Learning and other forms of Experiential Learning in the UK and Internationally.
Laura has a particular focus of quality assurance processes, international internships and placements, risk assessments and working with the non-for-profit sector.
