Biography
Gresë Koca works in the Public Diplomacy section at the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, where she oversees higher education initiatives that align with mission foreign policy objectives. With experience from study and work abroad programs in the U.S. and Europe, since 2021, Gresë has coordinated higher education exchange programs between Kosovo and the United States. She believes people-to-people connections are an essential form of diplomacy.
Driven by her commitment to environmental protection, Gresë co-founded Keep It Green, an NGO based in Obiliq—Kosovo’s most polluted city. The NGO empowers youth as change agents and environmental activists and played a significant role in passing Kosovo’s first environmental law. Working with community stakeholders, youth, and media, Gresë has supported initiatives that promote institutionalized change and foster a sustainable future for Kosovo.
Gresë holds bachelor’s degrees in English Language and International Relations, and an MA in English Linguistics. In 2020, she was selected to join the inaugural class of the Obama Foundation Leaders: Europe program, making her an Obama Foundation alumna.
