Karel Nappus

Karel Nappus is co-founder and CRO at Montonio, one of Europe’s fastest-growing fintechs and a product of Estonia’s digital-first innovation ecosystem. He built and leads the company’s core commercial functions—sales, marketing, and merchant support—from the ground up. With a team of fewer than 70 people, Montonio has scaled to process around €2 billion in annual volume across four European markets, serving over 8,000 merchants with its end-to-end checkout and payments platform.

Having grown Montonio from Tallinn, Karel has firsthand experience hiring and developing early-career talent in a rapidly digitizing industry — and a front-row view of how Estonia’s STEM pipeline and culture of hands-on learning translate into commercial outcomes.

Outside of work, Karel is a writer, a para-climbing athlete, and an avid student of history.
