Biography

Getlyn Nuut is an environmental policy expert and renewable energy professional with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of climate policy, energy transition, and sustainable development.

Getlyn holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and Cleaner Production from Tallinn University of Technology (now called “TalTech”) and has built her career at the forefront of Estonia’s green transition. She spent nearly 15 years in the public sector shaping climate policy — most notably as Head of the Climate and Radiation Department at the Estonian Ministry of the Environment, where she led Estonia’s climate change mitigation, adaptation, and radiation policy development for close to nine years.

Her expertise in energy and climate expanded further when she joined Elering AS, Estonia’s national transmission system operator, as Director of Offshore Grid Development. In this role, she spearheaded the development of Estonia’s offshore grid infrastructure and coordinated the Baltic Offshore Grid Initiative at EU level, while also driving Elering’s climate policy in line with Estonia’s 2050 decarbonisation targets.

Building on her public sector foundation, Getlyn has since brought her expertise to the private sector, where she has been involved in renewable energy project development at both Utilitas Wind OÜ and Eurowind Energy OÜ. This experience has given her a comprehensive understanding of the full project development cycle — bridging policy, regulation, and commercial realities in the rapidly evolving renewable energy landscape.
